There are a lot of reasons why people adopt a more plant-based lifestyle.
Here’s a look at the most common:
Vibrant Health: Most people make the switch for health benefits. Eating a plant-based diet reduces your risk of developing heart disease, type 2 diabetes, obesity, and a host of other chronic ailments and diseases.
Animal Ethics: Many don’t want to participate in the suffering of animals and/or factory farming.
Environment: Animal agriculture is a threat when it comes to both pollution and climate change.
Appearance and Energy: It’s all about that glowing skin and boundless energy!
Other great reasons include better sleep and an overall boost in your feeling of well-being.
Vegan Fudgy Treat?
A plant-based diet doesn’t mean you can’t indulge your sweet tooth every once in a while. As a bonus, I wanted to share a “healthier” version of a client-favorite treat!
Medjool dates are basically nature’s candy. They’re delicious! I like to keep some in my pantry in case I am craving a little treat.
Vegan Fudge Babies
This Fudge Babies recipe is straight from the magical mind of Katie from ChocolateCoveredKatie.com.
Ingredients:
1 cup (115 grams) walnuts
1⅓ cups (220 grams) Medjool pitted dates
1 tsp vanilla extract
⅛ tsp sea salt
4 Tbsp raw unprocessed cocoa powder
Directions: Add all of the ingredients into a food processor, and blend! Then, with your hands, roll the batter into small balls. Eat one right away before putting them in the fridge :-)
Serving size is 1-2 small balls. These can be addictive so definitely exercise portion control!
I hope you enjoy them!
